A view on the diet of the modern Western industrial world

Most of us reading this live in countries with high technology and education standards, with millions spent daily in our health systems.

Yet look at the statistics;
1 in 3 will get some form of cancer during their life
Around 60% of those over 65 have high blood pressure
33% have heart disease
45% of the elderly take prescription drugs

This is with our countries relying on Modern medical practice. Yes, on the whole we live longer then 100 years ago, but at what cost? Health care is breaking down in western countries due to the massive overload being experienced as more and more of the population ages. The baby boomer generation is reaching their 50s and the doctors and hospital systems are showing signs of not coping.

Lets look at the other side of the coin.

What of the Hunza people living in northern India in the Himalayas? They live to incredible ages. As well as that they don't consider someone 100 years old as being old. Its normal to live much longer. At 100 you would still be working and outworking an average 40 year old westerner.
Not only do they live a long life, its also nearly completely free of the disease we have in the west. Cancer, heart disease and so one isn't heard of.

The answer as to why they live longer and healthier lives is in their attitude to life, work and diet.

For example,

They rise and start work at 5am and don't eat until 12am.
They only eat 2 meals a day and often go on a 3 hour walk after a meal as recreation.
Meals consist of only freshly ground whole grain and fresh pesticide free fruits and vegetables. Very little meat is eaten. Maybe once or twice a week and then mostly only chicken in very small amounts. All meat eaten is free of antibiotics and growth hormones.

How close is your diet to theirs? What can you learn from them? What can you right away apply to your diet and life?

Why don't you do some research of your own and find out some more about these long living healthy people. See what you can learn and apply to yourself as you set out on what needs to be a life changing course. While you are at it, look up the the Vilcabamba of the Andes and the Abkahasians from the Black sea area.

Knowledge is your greatest tool in your battle to obtain permanent weight loss. Take the opportunity to learn everything you can and apply it immediately.
